Meet Your Board Member……Jane Brooks, Arts in Education Chair

Jane Brooks’ twenty six year service to PTA began when she first volunteered at Linkhorn Park Elementary. She has held several positions including President, chairman of various committees, serving also at Lynnhaven Middle School and First Colonial High School. She has been active at both the Council and District PTA levels, serving as President, Vice President, Arts and Education Chair, and various other committees on Virginia Beach Council of PTAs as well as Assistant Director of the Tidewater District.

She has served on Virginia PTAs Board of Managers as Membership Chair, Legislation Chair, serving as Arts in Education Chair since 2009. She has designed t-shirts for many state events and the President’s Award pin. She advocated for Bicycle Helmets and won a national PTA State Membership Award! In her local community, she served as School Board Member of Virginia Beach Public Schools for eight years and on various committees in the school division and city. She currently serves as a board member of the Virginia Beach Schools Education Foundation and as a member of the General Advisory Council for the Virginia Beach Schools Career and Technical Education.

She has been married to Doug for 36 years and has three sons ages 29, 31, 33 who live in Virginia Beach and Charlottesville.
