Meet Your Board Member: Rebecca Poma, Chair, Membership Committee

Rebecca Poma jumped in to the PTA with both feet the day she signed her first son up for kindergarten and hasn't stopped since. She has held many positions including Vice President, President and chairperson of several committees in each of the three schools her children attended. She has also been active in her county council, most recently serving as President, has participated on local school district committees and has served as the Shenandoah District Director.

In her role on the Virginia PTA Board of Managers, she has served as Membership Chair, Leadership Training Conference Vice-Chair, Blue Ridge Regional Representative and Social Networking Coordinator. She is trained as a National PTA TCBI Trainer and enjoys teaching others about the importance of PTA. Rebecca is a Lifetime Member, an award presented to her by her first elementary school, Peak View Elementary in Penn Laird, Virginia.
She has been married to Michael (also a PTA member) for 15 years and has three sons ages 7, 11, and 13. Her family lives in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
