The Legislation Committee coordinates the development of the Virginia PTA Legislation Program; provides the latest information on pending legislation dealing with issues of concern; and directs advocacy efforts to pass or defeat legislation as directed by the Legislation Program approved by local units and convention resolutions.

Legislation Program

Social, political, and environmental changes profoundly affect children. PTA volunteers use their knowledge and experience to advocate for better living conditions for children and their families. Through the National and State PTA Legislation Programs, you can help support legislation that will improve the lives of children.
